Ford Mustang Mach-E EV of the Year

Every year, Car and Driver gives a deserving vehicle the designation as a car of the year. One of the categories is “Electric Vehicle” or “EV” Car of the Year.” In 2021, that distinction went to the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. The Mustang Mach-E stands out in its class for many reasons. It happens to meet C and D's stringent criteria of being a compelling option for car shoppers, fun to drive, and providing value. The Mach-E meets those criteria more than other vehicles in its field, which is especially respectable because it is one of the newest cars in the electric market.

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E stands out from the crowd in many ways. The Ford Mustang Mach-E is the first electric vehicle in the Mustang family. It features a wide array of power and performance based on the trim level that you choose. With five trims available, there are many great options for the Mustang for all car shoppers. Even the Select, which is the base trim level, has many desirable features for a luxury SUV. With the Select, you can look forward to 18-inch standard wheels and a split-folding rear seat to make way for more storage space as needed. The seats are covered with simulated leather for a comfortable ride at the base level. For standard technology, the Mach-E includes a 15.5-inch central touchscreen display and a digital instrument display panel. The Mach-E also has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has smartphone pairing and smartphone compatibility to start with. You can also choose between a portable charging cable with either a 120-V or a 240-V capacity. Even more, features come with the California Route 1, which is the second trim level. This trim has a panoramic fixed glass roof and black exterior accents. It also has an automated parking system and a cargo cover. Larger wheels, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel are added on the Premium trim level and above. The First Edition upgrades to 20-inch wheels and wide tires. It also has a black front grille. The Mach-E provides 270 miles of range with the extended range battery and up to 346 HP and 428 LB-FT in torque.
