Ford Supports First Responders and Community During Los Angeles County Wildfires

Wildfires recently struck Los Angeles, CA, causing extensive destruction that left many people homeless and a significant number of businesses damaged. Despite the losses, the local community has received support from the auto industry, including the renowned American automaker Ford Motors. Ford has outlined plans to aid affected community members and first responders as they begin the recovery and rebuilding process.

How is Ford Helping?

Ford dealers in 13 states across the Western US and Ford Philanthropy have donated to the California Community Foundation's Wildlife Recovery Fund. They contributed $465,000 to help local organizations in California obtain the necessary supplies and resources to support community members. The funds raised by Ford and its philanthropic branch also benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. In addition to supporting the broader LA community, Ford is assisting displaced residents by offering them discounted prices on Ford vehicles and deferred payment options. Ford also provides free electric chargers to customers who purchase an electric vehicle, and its employees may take paid time off to help with wildfire recovery efforts.

What Organizations Does Ford Support?

Ford's generous donations support several organizations in the LA area. The American Red Cross, Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, and Team Rubicon are among those benefiting from Ford's contributions. Collectively, these organizations offer essential assistance to LA wildfire victims as they work to rebuild after the fires. The Red Cross continues to provide shelter and critical supplies to displaced individuals, while Team Rubicon is working to deliver longer-term resources as victims await home repair or reconstruction. Feeding America and World Central Kitchen remain focused on supplying meals and food to affected community members.

Special Electric Vehicle Support

Residents in the FEMA disaster area and owners of Ford and Lincoln vehicles qualify for exclusive Ford incentives. This program includes reimbursement for all-electric vehicles charged at a charging station from January 7 - 31. Local Ford dealerships also offer free charging adapters to customers who have lost their homes or are using an electric vehicle for disaster relief. Additionally, Ford is offering free replacements for customers whose home charging stations were lost in the wildfires.
