What's New For the 2019 Ford Explorer?

In the midsize crossover SUV market, the Ford Explorer stands in a league of its own. This popular model has been offered since 1991, and Ford has regularly updated it to maintain its incredible appeal to drivers. The automaker made stunning updates to the exterior design and features within the 2018 model. New color options were also added. For the 2019 Explorer, you can expect minimal updates because of how significant the improvements were to last year's model.

Multiple Trim Selections & Design Features

We have a huge selection of Explorer SUVs to choose from. Our inventory usually has multiple options for each of the five trims. In addition to the base Explorer trim, you can also choose from the XLT, Limited, Sport, or Platinum options. When you arrive at our dealership for a test drive, you may notice that all trims have impressive interior design elements, quality materials, and similar features. However, there are substantial differences between the trims that are noticeable when you take a closer look.

The base Explorer comes with cloth seating, folding rear seats with manual operation, heated and powered side mirrors, a USB port, six speakers for the audio system, single-zone climate control, cruise control, power door locks with speed-sensing, auto up-down power windows and a few other thoughtful features. Comparing the base trim's standard features with those in the Premium trim can show you how substantial the differences are.

The Platinum comes with leather seats, heated and powered front seats, powered folding rear seats, a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel with multiple mounted controls, intelligent access with a push-button starter, remote keyless entry with illumination, adaptive cruise control, a moonroof, memory settings for the power-adjustable driver's pedals, LED fog lamps and auto headlamps, LED tail lights, an upgraded sound system paired with SiriusXM radio, a rear spoiler, a rearview monitor combined with parking assistance and more.
