What's New For The 2019 Ford Super Duty?

The biggest change to the 2019 Ford Super Duty is the lighter weight frame and chassis that is actually stronger. By using a new military grade, high strength aluminum alloy for the body of the Super Duty, Ford was able to invest in a new high strength steel frame for the frame and chassis. This extra strength comes in handy when these trucks are put to a challenge. The 2019 lineup also features higher towing and hauling ratings than found with previous versions. Even the power ratings and interior design have been upgraded.

Which Trims and Features are Available for 2019?

There are six trim levels available for the 2019 Super Duty from Ford. The Lariat, XL, and XLT trim levels provide practical comforts along with exceptional performance. Choose the XL or the XLT if you are looking for a truck with the basic necessities for daily driving. Once you move up to the Lariat trim level you will discover upgraded technology and comfort.

Sometimes you need a truck that is both a work vehicle and mobile office. The King Ranch and Platinum trim levels fall under this description with supreme convenience and comfort features. The King Ranch includes rain sensing windshield wipers, a driver's seat with memory, voice activated navigation, and power-adjustable pedals with memory. The platinum offers adaptive steering, multi-contour front seats, heated rear seats, and power deployable running boards as well as advanced safety features.

The Limited trim level is the height of safety, comfort, and performance. Exclusive to this trim level is a 4x4 drivetrain, 7L V8 turbo diesel engine, lane-keeping alert, adaptive cruise control and collision warning in addition to brake support, and the ultimate trailer tow camera system.

Ford Super Duty Power & Performance

2019 Ford Super Duty Exterior FrontThe Ford Super Duty lineup for 2019 includes a 6.7L power stroke turbo diesel engine and a 6.2L flex-fuel gas V8. The 6.7L power stroke turbo diesel delivers 450 horsepower along with 935 pound to foot of torque which rates it a best in class. On the other hand, the 6.2L flex-fuel gas V8 offers 430 pound to foot of torque. It is engineered to provide peak torque at a lower rpm, and it will generate high torque throughout the power band's midrange. The Ford TorqShift G 6-speed in the F-250 has seamless shifting abilities, and the Live-Drive Power Takeoff Provision, which is optional, is offered in the F-350.

Ford Super Duty Safety Features

2019 Ford Super Duty Exterior RearThe 2019 Ford Super Duty line comes with driver and right-front passenger airbags as well as front seat side airbags. A front passenger airbag deactivation switch comes in both the regular and super cab versions, and the Safety Canopy System protects you and your passengers with side curtain airbags and a rollover sensor. Rollovers are avoided with the help of the AdvanceTrac roll stability control, but it is nice to know the protection is there if you need it.

Safety belts are one of your best lines of defense in a collision, and the 2019 Super Duty doesn't disappoint. The Belt-Minder front safety belt reminder won't let you forget to buckle up, and children are held secure with the child-safety-seat top tether anchors. Additional safety features include an individual tire monitoring system, MyKey technology, a rear view camera, the SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft System, and SOS Post-Crash Alert System.
