What's New For the 2020 Ford Expedition?

In 2020, the Ford Expedition's updates come primarily in the form of safety and aesthetics. This year's Expedition is now equipped with more standard safety technology than before. In 2020, all trim levels of the Ford Expedition get Ford's own package of driver-assist safety technology that includes features such as forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and more. You'll also get a backup camera and additional safety features on the outside with automatic high beams.

For the first time, all trim levels of the Expedition get this advanced safety technology. You'll also find some trim-specific updates on this year's Expedition as well. The XLT trims can now be ordered with a special Black Accent Package that gives their wheels, trim, and body a custom black paint color. The King Ranch can be ordered in two body styles this year, which are a regular and Max. The Max body style is nine inches longer, providing even more room for passengers.

No matter which trim you choose, you'll find plenty of room in all three rows of seats and a comfortable, modern cabin with plenty of infotainment features and technology. There are two engines available, including a base engine with substantial power and class-leading towing capacity.

The 2020 Expedition Has Many Features Across Several Trims

The 2020 Ford Expedition is produced in four trim levels. Each one builds on its predecessor's list of amenities, and every trim can be equipped with packages and additional amenities for an even more personalized appearance. The entry-level trim is called the XLT. Its amenities include three rows of comfortable, spacious seats and a total seating capacity for eight. This trim level gets a comfortable cabin that's well-equipped with technology, including an eight-inch display screen with smartphone pairing.

You can choose from several packages to enhance this trim's appearance, including an FX4 package with a more off-road-oriented appeal and the Black Accent package. If you want a car rigged for towing, you can also order the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package. The second trim is the Limited. It gets larger 20-inch wheels and more interior touches, including leather seats, an enhanced sound system, and ambient interior lighting. The King Ranch gets customized leather seats with accent stitching. The Platinum pulls out all the stops with head-turning 22-inch wheels and an adaptive suspension system.
