2021 Ford Transit Connect Exterior

What's New For the 2021 Ford Transit Connect?

The Transit Connect has been produced by Ford for almost a decade now to solve customers who need a cargo-hauling or people-carrying vehicle. For 2021, Ford introduces the option of getting lane-keeping assist to apply steering and get you back on track when you veer out of your intended lane of travel.

Which Features Are Available for 2021?

The 2021 Ford Transit Connect is split into XL, XLT, and Titanium trim levels. The XL and XLT are available as a two-seater Cargo Van and a six-seater Passenger Wagon. The Titanium is available only as a Passenger Wagon, which offers the option of configuring it to seat seven people.

At the base XL trim level, the Transit Connect comes with a remote keyless entry system, a four-speaker AM/FM stereo system, Bluetooth, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, a USB port, and a 4.2-inch LCD screen. The XLT has its remote keyless entry system upgraded to proximity keyless entry to access the van by merely having the key fob on you, and the infotainment system is enhanced with a SYNC 3 interface with wireless charging ability, a single-disc CD player, a trial subscription to SiriusXM Radio, and two USB ports for fast-charging mobile devices.

The luxury-oriented Titanium gains leather seat trim, front-seat heating, driver-side power adjustability, a voice-activated navigation system, a nine-speaker setup, and trial subscriptions to SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link, and nine speakers. Dual-zone automatic control and an auto-dimming rearview mirror are reserved for the Passenger Wagon.

Featuring Great Performance

The standard powertrain on the 2021 Transit Connect consists of a 162-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. There is the option, though, of getting a 169-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.

Technologies to Keep You Safe

Forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking are standard on the 2021 Transit Connect to help prevent front-end crashes, and the rearview camera helps prevent rear-end ones. However, if there is a crash, any of the six airbags can be deployed to avoid occupants' injuries. The XLT and Titanium gain more driver-assistance technologies-automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and the previously mentioned lane-keeping assist-with Ford's CoPilot360 suite.
