What's new for the 2022 Ford Transit Connect?

For the 2022 model year, the Ford Transit Connect receives several updates and improvements. The Transit Connect now comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine produces more power and torque than the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, improving fuel economy.

Other notable changes for the 2022 Transit Connect include:

  • An updated infotainment system with a larger touchscreen display.
  • New driver assists such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.
  • An available hands-free power liftgate.

2022 Ford Transit Connect Trims and Features

The Transit Connect Wagon is available in five models: XL, XLT, Titanium, Passenger Wagon XL, and Passenger Wagon XLT. The base XL trim comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, LED daytime running lights, black exterior trim, a height-adjustable driver's seat, manual air conditioning, a 4.2-inch infotainment display, Bluetooth connectivity, and a six-speaker audio system.

The XLT trim adds 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior trim, fog lights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, dual-zone automatic climate control, an upgraded infotainment system, an 8-inch touchscreen display and navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

The Titanium trim adds 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

2022 Ford Transit Connect Horsepower

All Transit Connect models come equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 169 horsepower and 171 lb.-ft of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available.

The Transit Connect gets an EPA-estimated 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive in terms of fuel economy. With all-wheel drive, fuel economy drops slightly to 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

The Transit Connect comes standard with several safety and security features, including automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and automated emergency braking. Optional safety features include adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera system.
