What's New for the Ford F-150 Lightning?

The Ford F-150 Lightning is an upcoming release from Ford. The Lightning, which is scheduled to arrive on the market in early 2022, is already one of the most anticipated vehicles in the coming year. The Lightning sets itself apart from other pickups in its class and even from the other Ford F-150 models because it has an electric powertrain as its power source. Lightning will get an exceptional electric range along with its electric mechanical system, and it will also have class-leading torque and towing capacities. There's much to enjoy on the inside of the Lightning as well, which has a modern, spacious, and quiet cabin filled with Ford's latest technology and creature comforts.

Available Features in the F-150 Lightning

Ford has stated that the Lightning will be made in three trim levels in its first year of production. You can choose between the Lariat, Platinum, and XLT. Although it's announced the trim lineup so far, Ford has not provided more specific information about the standard components and optional accessories for each trim level. Even so, the automaker has revealed some information on highlights of the truck's cabin.

The new Lighting will get one of the most sophisticated dashboards in the F-150 family to date, complete with a contemporary and stylish 15.5-inch touchscreen interface. This interface will support wireless versions of Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Apple CarPlay for convenience. SYNC 4A, Ford's latest infotainment technology, is also a part of Lightning's technology package. There will be two rows of seats in the F-150 Lightning, and you'll get extra storage space in the front trunk.

What's Under the Hood of the Ford F-150 Lightning

 

The Ford F-150 Lightning will use the same electrical, mechanical system across the board. Along with the electric motor, the Lightning will have an onboard battery pack, and you'll be able to keep the Lightning charged with charging ports on the road and at home. The F-150 Lightning can tow a maximum of 10,000 pounds, and it will have a top payload of 2,000 pounds. Its electric engine can produce 563 HP in peak power, and its torque output will reach 775 LB-FT. The Ford will have an automatic transmission. Some trim levels will also get an extended-range battery that provides 300 miles of electric range. The Ford will get 230 miles of range with the regular battery.

F-150 Lightning Safety Technologies

The Ford Lightning will have a Co-Pilot360 safety package with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, and forward collision avoidance. Semi-autonomous driving technology is also included.
