2020 Ford Ranger

What's New For the 2020 Ford Ranger?

After an eight-year hiatus, Ford revamped the mid-size Ranger pick-up truck and brought it back to the Ford line-up. In 2019, Ford reintroduced the Ranger with many of the same features as the last available model. However, technology has improved dramatically, and the Ranger has seen many upgrades upon its reintroduction to the American driver.

Again, the 2019 Ford Ranger reintroduced the mid-size Ranger to the Ford line-up. The 2020 Ranger will only see minor changes to the amenities featured in every trim package. However, one thing to be very excited about is the new FX2 off-road package. This package boasts an updated suspension, which is specially tuned for off-road performance, as well as a new rear differential that is electronically locked.

The Ranger Has Many Features Across Three Trims

The new Ford Ranger sports three trim levels: the XL, the XLT, and the Lariat. Each of these trims offers a two-door or four-door SuperCab model. The XL offers one the opportunity to upgrade to a Chrome Appearance Package with available Ford Sync, keyless entry, and the option to add some driver-assist safety features. The XLT offers cloth interior, a retractable Tonneau box cover, and the ability to upgrade to the SXT package.

The Lariat is fully loaded with all the features of the XL and XLT, but with the Equipment 101A package, you'll get all the power you could need from the turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The STX and Trailer Tow available packages make the Lariat both sporty and practical.

2020 Ford Ranger Power & Performance

The base engine size for all trim levels of the 2020 Ford Ranger is the 2.3L gas-powered engine featuring the Inline Four-cylinder that provides 310 ft-lbs of torque at 3000 rpm. Horsepower is no problem for the new Ranger! The mid-size truck runs on 270 hp. However, the turbocharged engine available on all trim levels increases these numbers.

Which Safety Features Are Available on the Ranger?

The latest Ford Ranger offers all the typical safety features: airbags, an alarm system, and automatic headlamps. Still, there is also the addition of Ford CoPilot360, which adds a great deal of driver-assist features. Lane Assist, rearview cameras, Park Assist, BLIS (a blind spot monitoring system), and Ford Pass Connect to assist the driver in several ways.
