This season on History Channel's hit show, "American Pickers," hosts and expert antiquers, Frank Fitz and Mike Wolfe, have replaced their Mercedes Sprinter with an all-new 2015 Ford Transit! They'll be traveling around the country in their new van looking for collectibles and "rusty gold" to sell at Antique Archaeology, their antique shop in Iowa.

In the mid to late '60s, directors began placing cameras on and inside of cars to make viewers feel like they were right in the middle of the action. Fast forward five decades later and many of these first-person perspective tricks are still being utilized. For example, in the recently released film "Need for Speed," director Scott Waugh opted for close-up, high-intensity car scenes and real stunts, many of which were performed in the new Ford Mustang.

Five decades ago, Ford placed a Mustang on top of the Empire State Building, one of the world's most famous attractions, and now for the car's 50th anniversary they've performed the same feat once again. I was pretty excited to hear that FOX was bringing “The X-Files” back for a mini-series this year and that excitement was heightened when I learned that the series was showcasing several Ford models. Fords have been featured on the show in the past as well; in fact, Agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) drove a Ford Taurus when the show first premiered in 1993 and once called it a “good American car.”
